The greatest Chilean of all time

This post has been definitely the most difficult of all. I don't know about what to talk, because I think that each person can be considered a valuable person according to the area in which it is recognized, Violeta Parra and much of his family have dedicated their life to music  marking a milestone in our history.

Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda and Gonzalo Rojas among many others, wrote verses until the day of his death. Even athletes, presidents, television characters, writers, people linked to religion and even characters as "Condorito"set a precedent.

Choosing just one is difficult, but I think the biggest Chilean is Saint Alberto Hurtado, who dedicated his life to helping the needy.

He walked the streets of Santiago at night looking for everyone who did not have where to sleep, thus founded the "Hogar de Cristo", which until today perpetuates its mission.

His life was full of sacrifice and dedication, and in 1996, was beatified in Rome.

Personally I chose this person because of the sense that he gave to his life, I think that between all the gratest Chilean, he is the best.

First day at university

My first day in university was very exciting, I had come to live in Santiago only a few days before so I didn't know anyone.

For me, everything was so new. I had come to university only once before.
The first day, I spoke with some classmates, which are still my friends here until now.
They were really nice with me. How I was living alone in Santiago, they are like my family here; they invited me to their homes and they accompany me to everywhere, we also do most of our homework’s together, so we spend a lot of time together. So I think that my first day brings me beautiful stuff like my friends.

That day I was very nervous, I didn't know what expect, how the people will treat me, if I was going to be or feel alone... Also was a little sad, because I didn't had my family closer enough to tell them all the details, so I feel kind of unaccompanied.
I don’t remember the most of the details about that day, because I have an awful memory, but the few memories I had are really nice.

That is everything I can tell you about my first day :)

This FIESTAS PATRIAS

In every national holidays I always do the same kind of things, I spend time with my family and my friends.
As this year was so many days, I also rested a lot, because I went out almost every night with my friends. I went out to the fondas a few days and to a house party. And during the days, I stayed in my house sleeping and resting, sharing with my family and eating delicious typical meals, like empanadas, asados y anticuchos.
My brother as is birthday the 14th of September and my grandfather the 16th so I also have two birthday parties on that weekend.
The national holiday that I most remembrance was the last year. A few friends from Santiago and Valparaiso went to visit me to Rancagua. We had such a great time, I laughed al day. In the nights we went out to fondas or we made barbecues, and in the days we visit other friends houses. For a few of them was the first time that spend the national holidays outside of Santiago, in a place where the people do national activities, so they enjoyed lifting volantínes and dancing cueca.
Now that I thinking, the only thing that I don’t do it was studying, so this week I’m not going to sleep… but I don't feel bad about it, because I realy need spending time with my family.

My BFF

My best friend calls Sebastián, I know him since we were in elementary school, we always sat together, did our homeworks together and almost everything

My family knows him and think he is a good guy, so he always going to visit me in my house and we spend hours talking, about anything.

He knows all my secrets and when I don't know what to do, he has wise words to tell me.  Last year he went to studying to Valparaiso, so last semester I spend a lot of time in his house, it was realy entertaining.

This semester I traveled to see him a few times, but definitley no has much as last, but we talk at telephone every weekend and almost everyday by facebook. Even that, I miss him, when I have a great day or a bad day, I remember him and in my family and I wish they were there. But I know that no matter where I am or where he is, always be friends.

He is now studying automotive mechanic in Federico Santa María University.

Some of his hobbies are playing football, bicycling, full contact karate.

My first Semester

Ohhh, my first semester of this year it was really strange, I didn't come to University, and it was the first time I had a long vacations, I could rest, and don’t be concerned for came back to the stress of have classes.

I enjoyed the time I spent with my family and friends; I could do a lot of things in my free time. I went to visit my aunt to Valparaiso and stay a few weeks with her and also I traveled to La Serena.

As I am from Rancagua and had been lived the last two years in Santiago alone, I came back to lived with my parents, my brother and my sister, so I shared a lot of my free time with them.
Also I met with old friends, from primary and high school that I haven’t seen for a while and how I had no classes, I had more free time that allowed me to see them.

I finally had time to rest, sleep, be lazy and do my favorite activity that is watching movies, and come back this semester with energies.

Santiago

When I came to studying to Santiago, the things I definitely love was having a lot of places to visit and knowing. In my free times I try to go out as much as I can and visit new places. A few friends and I, always go out and they show me a lot of beautiful places like Cerro San Cristobal, Parque Forestal, Parque interprovincial and a few museums and clubs.

In the time I have been travel every day to Santiago, I think the worst thing is the transport system. I lived in Rancagua, and it takes me more time form bus station to the university, tan from Rancagua to Santiago.
Also, the people always look sad, and there are always running, I think that if the people walk happier in life, everything would be better, we don’t be that stress out.

If I knew someone from another country that will travel to Santiago, I definitely advise that always take care of his stuff, that bring a dictionary, and that visit some typical places, like Central Station, Cal y Canto Bridge and La Moneda for their historical value.

Winter ♥

Finally winter!!!!! I was so tired of sunny days, the heat....  but the rain finally arrived :D
Winter is definitely my favorite season, because I love rain, cloudy days in bed, typical winter food like sopaipillas and soups, I even like cold, at least is better than heat

Only after a rainy day, we can see the "cordillera de los Ándes" and the blue sky, and that makes me feel so happy. The last few weeks, the air was gross!!!! Now we can breath air a little more clean

But winter is not perfect, during this season there are many people who get sick and that is never something good.

This past week, I have'n been in Santiago, and being in my house, winter is even better, here when it's raining there's a smell of wet dirt, that is one of my favorite smells, makes me fell so good =)  This past week has reminded me when I was little and was in winter holiday's, I woke up only when I was bored of being in bed. I've seen more movies this week that in the last months... XD

I hope you had a great week of rest for all those who voted "no" to the demonstrations, and very productive for those who support it, see you... who knows when, with highly charged batteries =)
